Contact lenses at Clive Williams
Compared to glasses, contact lenses have the advantage of providing better peripheral vision, and of allowing wearers to use non-prescription sunglasses or goggles. Alternatively, you may prefer contact lenses for cosmetic reasons.
Modern manufacturing techniques have succeeded in maximizing the comfort and wearability of contact lenses, so even if you have found them difficult in the past it may be worth discussing contact lenses with your optician if you find glasses to be inconvenient or prohibitive.
If you are trying contact lenses for the first time, you'll need to book a trial. This will take around an hour, and will give your optometrist the chance to talk you through the basics of good lens care and use. After that, you'll have an acclimatization period, in which you can decide whether or not contact lenses are right for you.
If you decide to continue with contact lens wear, you will require regular contact lens checks, usually annually, in addition to your regular eye examination. To alleviate the additional expense associated with wearing contacts, we are pleased to offer payment plans for both full-time and occasional wearers as part of our eyecare package.
